====== EDF file format ======

EDF stands for __E__uropean __D__ata __F__ormat  and is the typical file format of diffraction data obtained from area detectors. However, some beamlines don't provide their data in EDF format but as tif or mccd. The MGC software cannot process such files so they have to be converted (see [[xray_data:convertfileseries|here]] for conversion process).
